Ditch your clingfilm and turn to these funky patterned Beeswax Wraps also available in a vegan range using 4 plant based waxes. Rice bran wax, sunflower wax, hydrogenated castor oil and sumac wax. Alongside organic jojoba oil and pine resin.
After buying mine 18 months ago I was determined to stock this particular brand and I really couldn't recommend them highly enough.
Hand made in the UK using organic GOTS certified cotton with wax from British bee keepers and a blend of pine resin and organic jojoba oil, these wraps offer a versatile foodsaver that also look great in your fridge. With the edges sealed in wax so they don't fray and the cotton immersed in the wax blend for over an hour so all the fibres are fully absorbed, you can get a good couple of years out of them. And when you've used them to the absolute max, simply drop them into the compost or roll them up to make a handy firelighter.
I have about 5 on the go at any one time. The 20cm wrap is so useful for wrapping half an onion, a red pepper, a bit of cheese, you can be sure that no nasties leech onto your food yet still allow your food to breathe, so no more sweaty cheese or veg! Also useful when proving dough, they are happy in the freezer too.
The 30 cm wrap handily wraps round a sandwich for use day after day, while the 40cm is perfect for wrapping bread. The 30cm will stretch across a dinner plate or bowl to seal left overs straight into the fridge. The pine resin provides a natural adhesive and the warmth of your hands "sticks" the wax either together or to the edge of the plate - clingy, in a good way!
To clean simply give them a slosh round in your washing up water and hang or drape to dry. From time to time, heat your oven and lay the wraps on grease proof paper for no longer than 30 seconds and the wax will melt to resurface it and after cooling they're good to go again and again.
Green up your life one step at a time ❤️
